Introducing Cowork by Claude
Anthropic launched Claude Code in March 2024, and since then, I've been a heavy user. I switched to the 20x max plan because I found myself chewing through the normal account limits within days. I've used Claude Code for everything, not just development tasks. Reviewing documents, producing reports/summaries, preparing expenses, classification of data, and on and on.
When I joined CAAT, several people asked why I needed a pro grade terminal editor like Warp. This is because I live in the terminal. However, yesterday Anthropic released Cowork. A tool that brings the power of Claude Code to a front-end application. In my testing so far, it seems impressive to say the least. This brings the power of Claude Code to non-technical users who would otherwise be intimidated by the terminal.
That said, as model builders move past logic and reasoning, and into productivity tools, is anyone else wondering where this might leave AI tool or platform companies? And for those of us building AI within enterprises: how can we ensure that our solutions are durable? I think we're going to get past chatbots in 2026 and into AI on the desktop, interacting with our files and data in a way that we haven't seen yet.
How many days before we see a response from OpenAI or Google?
